Who are the Dwavres of Anvil Keep?
Anvil Keep is all that separates Konior from the Mountains of Endless White. During the Long War these Mountains, a gateway to the Northern Territories, were also the source of factions corrupted by the nefarious Melboroth. Anvil Keep provided a powerful stronghold against these, though the many tombs within the city provide a stark reminder of the heavy casualties incurred.
Like the Fallen Kingdom, the Mountains have remained quiet since the appearance of the Great Shroud and indeed within the minds of most within the Royal Kingdom. However, there are those within Anvil Keep who have lesser confidence in the longevity of this peace.
After all, little information really exists regarding the Mountains, the Northern Territories and especially the Fallen Kingdom. How can such a vast area of land simply fall silent? More importantly, how can it stay silent?
Perhaps this is why the principality has continued to forge ahead with its military development. Their forces are both well-drilled in the history of conflicts past, yet strategise creatively in anticipation of future tensions.
They are recognised across the continent for their powerful, professional and organised demeanour, even if their devoted focus is felt by some to be a touch archaic and perhaps unnecessary. As such, the strategic alliance between Anvil Keep and the wider Konior has so-far endured.
As the former provides a crutch (albeit rarely called upon) for the Royal Capital of Efna Draum and its key Royal cities of Bromhelm, Fjordburg and Mordensguard, so the latter provides the necessary supplies to support a hard-working and industrious population.
Respectful, proud and very aware of their devoted predecessors' loyalty to the Light, the recent reports of a weakening of the Great Shroud have sent a shockwave through the ranks of Anvil Keep. Is their long-standing fear that something sinister remains lurking in the grey about to be proven right?
